General description of the collection: John C. Ruggaber papers include academic course materials from Army Infantry School at Fort Benning (1942), Command and General Staff School at Fort Leavenworth (1943), and 4th Army Special Training Unit at Camp Adair, Oregon (1943). Headquarters type documents of the 8th Army and 24th Infantry Division thereof (1946-1948). Materials relating to the Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) camp at Fort Benning (1952); civil defense training materials (1962-1965). Material from the Special Training Unit at Camp Adair comes from Ruggaber's tour on the cadre in an experiment to upgrade literacy.
